Habitat and when they use to live

When triceratops were living they used to live in the upland forests of north american states like colorado, montana, south and north dakota and wyoming and the canadian provinces alberta and saskatchewan.  The triceratops live approximately 65 to 68 million years ago.

                                                  When they were discovered

The first triceratop was discovered in 1887 in colorado, USA since then there have been fossils found with tyrannosaurus rex tooth marks in them and people that found triceratops fossils are yoshi katsura, peter kaisen, barnum brown, W.R. gartska, leonard zerbst, john bell hatcher and arlene zerbst.       

Appearance        

Triceratops have three horns 2 above its eyes and one on the nose. The horns were about 115 cm long.they use their horns for visual display  as well as for combat against other triceratops and to protect them from there main predator tyrannosaurus rex.their horns were made of bone.They were about 8 metres long, 3 metres tall and 6 to 12 tons. There skin is a complex system of scales separated by flexible joints which are like scales but thinner.                  

                                                                   Behavior

Triceratops behavior is not completely understood. It clearly grazed on the tough vegetation, but whether it did so in large herds like buffalo is an unanswered question. Fossil evidence shows that it did battle with T-rex on occasion, and could survive the encounter.
